CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY

The Month of February | MasterClass | Stream For Free Now Black History, Black Freedom, Black Love

MasterClass has released a three-part series on Black life, thought, and culture for free during the month of February. The instructors are Jelani Cobb, Nikole Hanna-Jones, Angela Davis, Kimberle Williams Crenshaw, Cornel West, John McWhorter, and Sherrilyn Ifill. Together these intellectuals, activists, and scholars are reshaping our conversations on race in America.

I was particularly gratified to discover this in-depth program after reading a report in the Concord Monitor that announced New Hampshire Education Department’s intention to release four three-minute videos for educators during Black History Month.

If possible, take the Master Class. It is a brilliant piece of truth-telling that celebrates Black history, freedom, and love without leaving out our messy and painful journey. To learn from our past we must — as the Sankofa symbol suggests — “go back and get it.”

Architect Paul Revere Williams had to learn to draw upside down.

Paul Revere Williams (1894 to 1980) taught himself to draw upside down so he could sit across from his clients as many refused to sit next to him.

Williams worked hard to prove to himself and others that he deserved “a place in the world.” He went on to win numerous awards and designed houses for Frank Sinatra and Lucille Ball in neighborhoods he was not allowed to live in.

In 1957, he was the first African American elected a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and in 2017 was posthumously awarded the AIA Gold Medal in recognition of his lasting influence on the theory and practice of architecture.

CELEBRATING RACHEL ONE LOVE EARTHSTRONG TODAY, JUNE 17, 2020

NO MORE WAR!

The whole world needs to stand up for the truth, for what is right. We need to unite with integrity, love, and light!

Let there be peace on earth. No child should ever die over a man’s greed for power!

Enough of these lies!

Enough of this hypocrisy while our children die, while our children are being killed in front of our naked eyes!

It is time for all people to unite in the love of peace, in love and faith to Jah, in the love of our brothers/sisters as ourselves to give our children a better future!

Let us put an end to killing! Come Jah. Come! Thy children are lustily calling from over the distant seas.

Jehovah, the Great One, has heard us!

Vernon and Gail’s son, Daniel Saunders, recently transitioned to Holy Mt Zion, doing higher duties for JAH.

Please share this good news about the Big Brother of Rachel One Love.

20th Rachel One Love Beach Day

It was a beautiful balmy Sunday, November 18, 2018, when the Rachel One Love Family converged on the Historic Virginia Key Beach at 4020 Virginia Beach Drive, Miami, Florida.

The Family Day on the Beach was so special as seeing family and friends over these 20 years filled us with unspeakable joy. The culture reggae music was playing to the laughter of our children. I do not know whether it as the smell of the cool salty breeze or the feel of the sand coupled with the great company; we were reminded of the times Rachel One Love was held in our backyard around the swimming pool. Remember those days?

The Rachel One Love Inc feels quite at home at the Historic Virginia Key Beach considering its great history. I encourage you to read up on their website.

Thanks to the performing artists Brigadier Jerry, Ras Abuna, King Banton, Prince Junior, for their continued love and support spreading the importance of teaching our children to swim and delivering the positive message in these days of trials and tribulation. We are assured that with God there is no failure, and if we hold on and rise to the higher calling, our future is bright.

We also give thanks to the families and friends who attended and look forward to your continued support.

One God, One Aim, One Destiny….One Love My Brothers and Sisters/Children of The Most High!!

Greetings family!! We would be honored by your presence at this years Rachel One Love! It is going to be enriching, uplifting and inspiring! Don’t miss it!!

Greetings my Brothers and Sisters, sponsors and supporters of the Rachel One Love Foundation to prevent child drowning and promote vintage reggae music.

It was showers of blessings at our last Rachel One Love Fest held at Solare Garden in Doral, Florida on Saturday, November 14, 2015.

What a joy it was to see the out pouring of love among our big happy family. The feeling of Jahovah’s peace surrounded us as one heart beating resounding to the drum and base of the musicians and listening to the angelic voices of our singers giving the message of strength, joy and love to all.

The program was well received by those who came out despite the rain and left the event feeling blessed and strengthened as we were blessed at their presence. It brought us closer together because of this experience. We thank Almighty God as He is the One who orders the sun to shine or the rain to fall; So in all things, we give thanks! Ps.29,10-11 “The Lord sitteth upon the flood, yea the Lord sitteth King forever. The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace”.

We reminded our guests of the importance of teaching our children to swim as one lesson, 90% increase survival rate. Our personal experience has sealed our commitment to saving lives from drowning as no child should die from drowning if every effort is made to become informed and skilled in swimming.

Through the alliance with the Kiwanis Club of Kendal/South Dade in 2012 we sponsored the training of 12 children with swimming lessons and now have received the support of the YMCA and Ocaquatics Swim School who have visitedour annual events to bring awareness of the importance of teaching swimming to our children and providing well needed life saving information.

Thanks to all the singers and players of instruments who gave their very best! Veterans who wowed the family such as Judah Eskender Tafari,, Marcia Griffiths, Glen Washington, Star of David, Ras Karbi,King Banton;Brigadier Jerry and his Sister Nancy who performed a once in a lifetime duet demonstrating the resilience, strength and forgiveness of family unity. Powerful Reggae/Gospel singers Sista Sasha belted out “Chosen By You”, 3B4JHOY trio thrilled us with their version of “Satta Massagana” and Michelle “Songbird” Gordon made her mark with her performance showing unity is strength and strength is power”.to God be the glory in all we think, say and do.

It is such a time as this that more cooperation between families is needed and we hope that our Foundation will be given the opportunity to effect everlasting change in the lives of our children who are our jewels, our future generation.

We thank you for supporting The Rachel One Love Foundation and attending our annual; fund raising events where over 2,000 supporters look forward to reuniting with family and friends over these past seventeen years.

Honoring H.I.M. Emperor Haile Selassie I on His 122th Earth Birthday

two women smilingGreetings my brothers and sisters in the divine name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As today is the 122th earth birthday of our Imperial Majesty of Ethiopia we the parents of Rachel give thanks and praises for all the manifold blessings that the almighty God has poured out on us, for all He continues to do for us and for all He is about to do for I and for I.

“Today man sees all his hopes and aspirations crumbling before him. He is perplexed and knows not whether he is drifting but he must realize that the Bible is his refuge, and the rallying point for all humanity. In it, man will find the solution of his present difficulties and guidance for his future action, and unless he accepts with clear conscience the Bible and its great Message, he cannot hope for salvation. For my part I glory in the Bible.”

He has held fast, has steared the course with joy and dignity. He has held the faith through many adversities and has done a wonderful job we will praise Jehovah God of Israel for this strong soldier as we look forward to seeing him again one day on Zion shore where the gates of heaven are wide open awaiting God’s chosen people.

Visionaire dedicated his life to the 12 Tribes of Israel as a singer and performer, as a brother and a friend, and has spread the gospel of salvation through his songs as he performed yearly at the Rachel One Love. He will be greatly missed.

We will however keep singing his songs, “I love Jah and where He goes I’ll follow.. he’ll always be my true love for now until forever I will follow Jah!”

Over the years, Brother Vision truly prove the love in his heart by his actions indeed in spirit and in truth that seek God first knowing that everything shall be added in the kingdom of Holy Mount Zion.
